I am an unsuspected Leo. While I love life, I’m usually described as being pretty calm and gentle (very unlion-like in that way I guess). I recently traded cabs for cows as I moved from New York City to Idaho (umm…yeah, two very different places), and I started a graduate school program out here for Professional Counseling, which I love! Life this past year has been full of adventures; and I am actually now expecting two baby girls come late fall. (How crazy and awesome is that?!) Because of this beautiful and exciting turn of events, I am taking a little break from my graduate program and will be shifting gears for a bit.
Before my recent move out west, my husband and I lived back east and I studied and worked as a Board Certified – Music Therapist. I used to think I had it pretty good because I got to make and play music with children by day; and then I got to write, record and perform as a singer-songwriter by night. I’ve recorded a few albums, and am actually recording some new tracks right now in hopes of putting out an EP. There really are no words to describe how incredible music is, which is why you can often find my car full of musical instruments that I cart around for guitar lessons or music therapy sessions. I just love it.
I also love spending time with my little family (consisting currently of my sweet husband, my puppy and myself). I know a little bit about fertility issues, and while that subject is often personal and sometimes even a bit awkward to talk about, it really has taught me a great deal about myself, about life, love, hope, fears and finding happiness in the present.
I admit to having no concept of time (which I blame on my undiagnosed ADD or being Latina, not sure which one), and I can spend hours in antique and consignment shops. I am also a food snob (I’m afraid to admit) and I love natural and organic foods.
Thank you for letting me share pieces of my heart with you in this little corner of the internet.
